Wish all A Happy Chinese New Year and all bird house full with bird nest.

This year is my busy year due to have to finish 2 more bird house before noon tomorrow. I hope we can finish it on time. Besides that, today i just operated 2 more BH. One is standalone BH and one more is shop lot. Below is the shop lot BH:-

3 month old Shop Lot Bird House

This BH is only about 3 month old. From the pictured on top and the floor, you can see a lot of bird dropper and nest. Total as we count is about 100 nest include the marker and the finish nest. This bird house already produce 6 baby bird that already can fly out.

More Under Repair Bird House

Below is my new project. Shop lot. Total is 5 units. Will finish 2 unit before CNY. This is BM project. Just waitting to switch on the sound system.

Below is a shop lot BH that located at Alor Setar. This is how we attach the tweeter. We going to switch on the sound on this friday.

Below is standalone BH that is made from steel. I just help the owner to attach the nesting plank and attach the tweeter only.

Last Week Project

On 9/1/2009.

I was at Kelantan to send some material and visit 2 more not success bird house. All is located at Pasir Mas. This two BH is located beside the river. So, what problem about this two BH ??? Please give me some answer !!

On 6/1/2009

Sending worker to attach the nesting plank on a very very low cost BH. This BH is made from steel. I just helping this Big Bos to attach the system and the nesting plank. Remember, please do not built BH with steel !!!!!

This BH will be ready on 18/1/2009.

On 5/1/2009

We start a new stand alone BH again. This BH is located at Kerpan about 40 minute drive from Alor Setar Town. This BH size is 19 X 56 feet for 4 storey. Ah Pak and our worker is start the basic work. We going to finish this project in 8 week. I will post this BH progress ....

Do We Need Corner Board ???

From the pictured above, what conclusion that we can make ?

1) If we place corner board, then the angle nest will increase from 4 pcs to 8 pcs. So are u think that ur nest will get higher value ?

2) Swiftlet need to built more and take more time to finish the corner board nest. If you are swiftlet, do you want to built the nest or find another place ?

3) The swiftlet that stay at your new bird house is adult swiftlet or baby swiftlet ? Are they have the experience to built the nest ?

So, please make your own conclusion !!!! Do we need the corner board at the new bird house ???

Do you want to have as many nest as prosible in a shot time period ?

New 3 story open roof design

This design is one of the stand alone BH that we need to finish in 6 month time. The size is 19.10 feet X 56.10 feet.

We design with open roof due to this BH is located only 1/2 km from sea side and we are facing the wind problem, so we need to soft this problem with open roof design. About the LAL ( Hold between floor ), we open it with the size of 18 X 10 feet.

New Operate Swiftlet House

We just operate this BH on 11am today. About 20 to 30 bird are attracted after 10 minute. This bird only flying on the top of this building only. But after 2 hour, the bird start to flying in to this BH. I hope they will stay there.

After 4 day taking the data, the max temp is 29.5 and min is 26.8. The humidity is min 82% and max is 95%.

I am using pooling sound with baby sound for the external sound and the internal sound only with baby sound.

Why Raining Day Have Swiftlet Playing at The Bird House ?

During raining day, we can see a lot of bird is playing at the bird house. Why ?
Because :-

1) Swiftlet love to playing with water.

2) Normally, BH temp will drop during raining day, so, adult swiftlet will come back to monitor his baby or their egg. New born baby swiftlet need about 30 'd and the egg need about 32'd . If the temp is drop, then adult swiftlet need to warm up the temp to protect their baby and egg, so during raining day or cool day, we can see a lot of swiftlet will playing or in out the BH.

3) During raining, a lot of insert will flying up and the swiftlet will get a lot of food, so after they have enough food, then they will back to home.

Above is all the answer i get from all my " Si Fu " but after i do some test and monitor with CCTV during raining day or cool day, the most correct answer is Number 2.

Swiftlet is back to home for warm up the baby and egg, if the temp is ok, then they will fly out to have a rest and cool down their body and then fly back to his nest again.
